Gideon Orellana leads a balanced attack to beat Brighton Charter

Thunderbird Adventist Academy have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Brighton Charter on Wednesday as Thunderbird Adventist Academy made off with a 61-37 victory. The team accrued 51 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thunderbird Adventist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gideon Orellana, who scored 20 points along with six steals. The match was Orellana's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ronnie Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Brighton Charter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jadyn Mark, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Mastrapasqua, who scored 12 points.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Brighton Charter, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thunderbird Adventist Academy will challenge Telesis Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brighton Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Ville de Marie Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ville de Marie Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brighton Charter in Arizona (Ville de Marie Academy is ranked 63rd, while Brighton Charter is ranked 284th).
