Basketball Recap: Westmoor Takes a Loss

Westmoor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 61-36 to the San Mateo Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1019th, while the Bearcats are ranked 227th).

Zidane Auzarang was his usual excellent self, going 11 for 22 on his way to 31 points and seven boards for San Mateo. Auzarang's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Manav Ejjalaghatta, who posted eight points.

Westmoor's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for San Mateo, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Westmoor wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-41 victory against Mills on the 31st. San Mateo has also already played their next game, a 57-30 win against Capuchino on the 31st.
