Baseball Recap: Gaston Falls Short of Lowell in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gaston can now relate to. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lowell Devils on Monday. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gaston got a good showing from Roman Potenzieri, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Potenzieri has allowed since back in April.

At the plate, Aiden Sheets made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Lowell, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Gaston nor Lowell have any future games scheduled.
