Softball Recap: Hutsonville/Palestine Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

While Hutsonville/Palestine's victory against Lawrenceville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Indians 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted against the Indians since April 12, 2022.

Hayden Monan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gracie Alumbaugh, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Hutsonville/Palestine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.
