Shawnee owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. Everything went their way against the Northwestern Warriors as they made off with an 8-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Braves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Mason Reeder, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Northwestern off the board.

On the hitting side, Shawnee got a big performance out of Joey Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Luke Finnell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Shawnee's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Northwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Shawnee and Northwestern could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Braves (ranked 397th) will meet Indian Lake (ranked 190th) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northwestern will challenge Graham Local at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (342 vs. 141).
