Basketball Recap: East Grand Rapids Comes Up Short

East Grand Rapids was the 63-40 winner over Tri-Unity Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2015, but their luck changed this time around. The East Grand Rapids Pioneers fell just short of the Tri-Unity Christian Defenders by a score of 61-58 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Defenders are ranked 167th).

East Grand Rapids' loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Tri-Unity Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

East Grand Rapids will finish 2024 at home by hosting Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Unity Christian and West Catholic will round out the year against one another at at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
