Soccer Game Preview: Steele Canyon vs. Monte Vista

The Steele Canyon Cougars will challenge the Monte Vista Monarchs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Steele Canyon is looking for their season's first victory.

Steele Canyon fell victim to Santana and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sultans.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista's and Valhalla's contest on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Monte Vista turned on the heat in the second half with two goals. Monte Vista put the hurt on Valhalla with a sharp 4-1 win. The result kept the Monarchs happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 16, 2024.

They hit Valhalla with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bill Isaho, Jayden Cleveland, Damian Guerrero Paz, and Benjamin Salazar.

Monte Vista now has a winning record of 6-5-4. As for Steele Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Steele Canyon skirted past Monte Vista 3-2 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Steele Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monte Vista turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
