Softball Recap: Sterling Heights Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lincoln on Wednesday, Sterling Heights came back down to earth. The Stallions came up short against the Cousino Patriots on Monday, falling 16-1. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Sterling Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Cousino, they moved to 10-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Sterling Heights will challenge Madison at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Stallions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cousino, they will square off against Lamphere at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
