Recap: Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars vs. Tampa Prep Terrapins
Even though the Tampa Prep Terrapins scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars still came out on top. Academy of the Holy Names took their contest against Tampa Prep 63-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Academy of the Holy Names.
Leading Academy of the Holy Names to victory were Morgan Hunt and Lucy Morey. Hunt scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Morey scored 17 points along with six assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that Hunt scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sam Castro, who scored five points along with three steals.
Tampa Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kimora Green, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Bush, who scored 14 points.
Academy of the Holy Names' win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Tampa Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Academy of the Holy Names and Karns will round out the year against one another at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at. Karns has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Tampa Prep is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Seacrest Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th. Seacrest Country Day will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
