Baseball Recap: Medina Beats Menard for Their Third Straight Win

Medina made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Menard, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Medina put the hurt on Menard with a sharp 15-5 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Holland Cook was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Cook was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davis Peterson, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Ty Jones was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

The win (which was Medina's third in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Menard, Leakey, and Our Lady of the Hills. As for Menard, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Medina will challenge Our Lady of the Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Menard, they will square off against Leakey at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Menard is facing Leakey at the right time seeing as Leakey is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
