Gilbert waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They never let the Hammond Skyhawks get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Gilbert pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Hammond, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will challenge Airport at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 1.4, the Eagles 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hammond, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on A.C. Flora at 8:00 p.m. on the 14th.
