Baseball Recap: John Carroll Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last five times John Carroll and Loyola Blakefield have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Patriots walked away with a 12-8 win over the Dons. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Dons on Monday, they had to take a 13-10 loss.

Kiernan Deremeik looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Dallas Brooks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Hayden Niedzialkowski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

John Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 10-5-2. As for Loyola Blakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.

John Carroll will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
