Volleyball Recap: Medina Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shaker Heights on Thursday, Medina came back down to earth. The Battling Bees took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mayfield Wildcats on Friday.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mayfield scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17.

Mayfield found their leader in freshman Bobby Mickshaw, who had ten digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Mickshaw.

Medina's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Mayfield, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Medina will take on rival Brunswick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mayfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Mentor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
