Baseball Recap: Abbeville Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Abbeville Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 17-5 to the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-0 defeat back in February.

Rooty Ward made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bower, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Abbeville Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Abbeville Christian Academy will face off against Trinity Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something Abbeville Christian Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they will take on Hope Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Macon-East Montgomery Academy 3.6, Hope Christian Academy 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
