Basketball Recap: Elk Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Elk Valley Christian lost against Grace Christian back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Elk Valley Christian Eagles were outmatched by Grace Christian and fell 88-58.

Elk Valley Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Spencer Campbell, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Evan Hines, who went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points. The game was Hines' third in a row with at least 15 points. Caleb Hensley also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Even though they lost, Elk Valley Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. This was only their fourth loss (out of 15 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Grace Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Harris, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 23 points and seven steals. That's the most steals Harris has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bryce Ray, who went 11-for-18 on his way to 27 points and five assists.

Elk Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Grace Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

Elk Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Grace Christian, they have already played their next match, a 51-47 win against Morgantown Christian Academy on the 28th.
