Recap: University Cougars vs. Timber Creek Wolves
The University Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 60-35 defeat at the hands of Timber Creek. While losing is never fun, University can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while Timber Creek is ranked 41st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timber Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Serene Exalant, who scored 11 points along with five steals. Exalant hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Karishma Ortiz, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
University has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Timber Creek, they pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
University will take on Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Timber Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against Cocoa at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cocoa is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
