Softball Recap: Mohave Accelerated Has No Trouble Against Mayer

Mohave Accelerated's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 21-0 margin over the Mayer Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Mohave Accelerated got a massive performance out of Lucy Wickham, who fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Wickham a new career-high in RBI. Rayli Marin was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.

Mohave Accelerated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mohave Accelerated's record now sits at 7-1. As for Mayer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Mohave Accelerated will face off against Ganado at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mohave Accelerated knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Ganado likes a good challenge. Mayer will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Valley Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on March 25th. Mayer has given up an average of 16.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
