Football Recap: West Lyon Skates Past Alta-Aurelia with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Lyon). They claimed a resounding 70-6 win over the Alta-Aurelia Warriors. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Warriors are ranked 241st).

West Lyon's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Alta-Aurelia, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, West Lyon will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hinton at 7:00 p.m. As for Alta-Aurelia, they will square off against Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute on Friday. Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute's defense has only allowed 14.2 points per game this season, so Alta-Aurelia's offense will have their work cut out for them.
