Soccer Recap: Western Comes Up Short

The matchup between Western and Desert Oasis on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Warriors lost 8-0 to the Diamondbacks. If Western were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to Desert Oasis when the teams met back in August of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Western's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Desert Oasis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Western will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Durango at 5:45 p.m. on the 8th. Western will be up against Durango's rather soft defense (which has allowed 9.25 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Desert Oasis, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Cimarron-Memorial on the 2nd.
