Preview: Town East Christian Eagles vs. Vanguard Christian Knights
Town East Christian is 3-0 against Vanguard Christian since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Town East Christian Eagles will look to defend their home court against the Vanguard Christian Knights at 6:00 p.m. Vanguard Christian took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Town East Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Town East Christian beat San Antonio Prep 49-45.
Owen Cadena continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Steven Windhorst was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vanguard Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 47-37 to New Braunfels T.
Despite their defeat, Vanguard Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Thomas Huron, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Postell, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Town East Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Vanguard Christian, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
Town East Christian took their victory against Vanguard Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2020 by a conclusive 70-45. Does Town East Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vanguard Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
