Baseball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan Gets the Win

Boyd-Buchanan posted their closest win since May 7, 2024 on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the East Hamilton Hurricanes 5-4. The Buccaneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hurricanes, too.

Cooper Ridge looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Aaron Hise, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

Boyd-Buchanan's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3-1. As for East Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Boyd-Buchanan will host Red Bank at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Hamilton, they will head out to face off against Rhea County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. East Hamilton's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Rhea County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
