Thornwood was sadly handed a loss on Wednesday, but Daniel Diaz did his best to prevent it. Diaz wasn't messing around, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. The match was his eighth straight with at least one stolen base.

Even though Diaz couldn't lead Thornwood over Crete-Monee, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds have some work to do to even out the 1-9 series between these two since April of 2022, but a win here would be a good start.
