Softball Game Preview: Colony Titans vs. Alta Loma Braves

Colony is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will face off against the Alta Loma Braves at 3:30 p.m.

Colony is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since April 24, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Roosevelt by a score of 9-7.

Cyan Cruz(2026) was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Khloe Caldera(2027), who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alta Loma, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Garey with a sharp 17-1 victory last Thursday. The match marked the Braves' most dominant win of the season.

Alta Loma also got a great performance from Donica Meyndert as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Alta Loma let Alexis Serrano and Madison Meredith run wild. Serrano scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Meredith went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Meredith a new career-high. Alissa Vizon was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Alta Loma was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Colony's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Alta Loma, their record is now 7-5.

Colony couldn't quite finish off Alta Loma in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Colony avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
