Montrose strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Grand Junction Central Warriors with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Red Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

While Montrose won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 25-22.

Maggie Legg paced Montrose's offense, picking up 20 kills. Legg got some help from Lilly Nelson and her 33 assists. Jordyn Simo controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Montrose's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Grand Junction Central, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Montrose will host Grand Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Junction Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Durango on the 13th.
