Baseball Game Preview: Bermudian Springs Eagles vs. West Perry Mustangs

The Bermudian Springs Eagles will face off against the West Perry Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bermudian Springs is coming into the match hot, having won their last 17 games.

Two weeks ago, Bermudian Springs got the win against York County Tech by a conclusive 9-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Bermudian Springs got a great performance from Skyler Gentzler as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gentzler has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lane Hubbard was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Heller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, West Perry came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Biglerville by a score of 5-2 on Monday.

Bermudian Springs' win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for West Perry, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Bermudian Springs couldn't quite get it done against West Perry in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
