Football Game Preview: CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] Eagles vs. North Branford Thunderbirds

The CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] Eagles will head out to square off against the North Branford Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] took a 33-point loss the last time they faced off against Rockville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles slipped by the Rams 22-21 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Branford). They blew past Capital Prep/Achievement First 42-6 last Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Thunderbirds with their most commanding win of the season.

North Branford found their leader in freshman Billy Criscuolo, who rushed for 44 yards and a pair of scores. Criscuolo also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble and making nine total tackles. North Branford also got help from Jon Jacobs, who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy]'s record now sits at 5-2. As for North Branford, their record is now 5-1.

CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] was dealt a bruising 44-14 defeat at the hands of North Branford in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Thunderbirds' Aj Sigel, who rushed for 237 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 61 yards and one TD.
