Baseball Game Preview: Aberdeen Bobcats vs. Shelton Highclimbers

For the first time this season, Aberdeen will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shelton Highclimbers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aberdeen has four straight victories, Shelton has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

It was a proper cat-fight when Aberdeen duked it out with Ephrata last Saturday. Aberdeen walked away with a 4-1 win over Ephrata.

Gabe Matthews looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Mylan Bruner was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. Luke Matin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Shelton's offense. They lost 9-0 to WF West on Saturday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Shelton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaine Harding, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Harding hit this season.

Shelton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Aberdeen, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
