Pius X won the last time they faced Gretna and things went their way  on Thursday too. The Pius X Thunderbolts blew past the Gretna Dragons 56-33. The Thunderbolts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten  matchups by 23  points or more this season.
 Pius X was led to victory by  Ava Markowski and  Hannah Bedient.  Markowski  posted 15  points and five  steals, while  Bedient  went 7-for-10  to rack up 14 points in addition to seven  boards and four  steals. That's the most  steals  Bedient has posted since back in January of 2024.  Keeleigh Knobbe was another key player,  going 5-for-12  on her way to 10  points.
 Gretna lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Maggie Miller, who  scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Emme Johnson, who  had eight  points.
Pius X's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Gretna, they dropped their record down to 8-13 with the  loss, which was their fourth straight  at home.
 Coming up, Pius X will host Duchesne  at 4:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Pius X is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8  points per game  this season. As for Gretna, they will look to defend their home court  on Saturday against Standing Bear  at 1:00  p.m.
