Basketball Recap: Overland Christian Takes a Loss

Overland Christian was the 38-32 winner over El Dorado Christian when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Overland Christian Eagle fell just short of the El Dorado Christian Buffalos by a score of 38-36 on Friday. The Eagle have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Overland Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jolie Menil posted 17 points. The matchup was Menil's fifth in a row with at least ten points.

El Dorado Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenzie Cole, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Cole is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Judd, who earned six points and 16 rebounds.

Overland Christian now has a losing record at 2-3. As for El Dorado Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Overland Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-42 loss against Center Place on the 9th. As for El Dorado Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-37 win against Clinton Christian Academy on the 9th.
