South Effingham moved up to 174 from 210 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 3A.
Statesboro took down Liberty County 19-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Panthers' JJ Grant and Jeremy Caldwell-Fabregas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Grant has thrown for 345 yards this season, while Caldwell-Fabregas, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 14 catches for 375 yards. The Mustangs' Joshua Mercer leads the league in rushing yards with 713.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wayne County takes on South Effingham. The Yellow Jackets are in fourth place, while the Mustangs are in third place.
South Effingham made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,486 from 5,346.
