Baseball Recap: Forest Hills Starts off Right with Win over Penn Cambria

Forest Hills took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Penn Cambria Panthers as Forest Hills made off with a 13-3 win. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jeff Beyer and Kolbie Smiach made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Beyer pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Smiach tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. At bat, Beyer scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Smiach scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Smiach a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brody Custer was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Williamson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Penn Cambria's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
