Recap: Carrollwood Day Patriots vs. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Phoenix

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Carrollwood Day Patriots can now relate to. They took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix on Tuesday. Carrollwood Day's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Carrollwood Day lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ayaan Bhadouria, who scored 14 points. Logan Kanicki was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was TASHANDA MADZVIMBO out in front who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was EMANI BROWN, who scored 17 points along with three steals.

Carrollwood Day has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Carrollwood Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate is on the road again on Thursday and plays Berkeley Prep at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Berkeley Prep likes a good challenge.
