Baseball Recap: Corbin Comes Up Short

Corbin suffered their closest defeat since April 19th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Whitley County Colonels by a score of 4-2. The Redhounds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colonels earlier this season, when they won 6-2.

Will Freeman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Corbin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clay Botner, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Corbin's loss dropped their record down to 22-18. As for Whitley County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Corbin nor Whitley County have any future games scheduled.
