Soccer Game Preview: South Elgin vs. DeKalb

The South Elgin Storm will challenge the DeKalb Barbs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Elgin is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

South Elgin's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Elmwood Park as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The result was nothing new for South Elgin, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Matthew Lipp and Emiliano Morales scored all three of South Elgin's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, DeKalb fell victim to Metea Valley and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Mustangs. DeKalb haven't had much luck with Metea Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 7-10-2. As for South Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 18-3-1.

South Elgin beat DeKalb by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, winning 1-0. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barbs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
