Basketball Recap: Stevens Takes a Loss

Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 68-24 loss at the hands of the Taft Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-34 back in December of 2024.

Taft's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avah Castillo, who went 8 of 19 on her way to 17 points and five steals. Castillo is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Mariella Harper, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points and five steals.

Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Taft, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-20.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Warren the next time they take the court. Stevens will host Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
