Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Center Place Golden Eagles

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Westwood Baptist Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-37 to Holcomb.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sydney Hawley, who went 7 of 16 en route to 15 points. The game was her fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Taryn Kirkley was another key player, putting up six points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Center Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-22 heartbreaker at the hands of El Dorado Christian.

Westwood Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Center Place, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Westwood Baptist Academy beat Center Place 36-27 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Westwood Baptist Academy repeat their success, or does Center Place have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
