Soccer Game Preview: Somerville vs. Delaware Valley

The Somerville Pioneers will head out to challenge the Delaware Valley Terriers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Somerville's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Somerville turned things around against Hackettstown on Saturday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Somerville's first draw of the season.

Meanwhile, Delaware Valley came up short against Bernards on Saturday and fell 5-3. Delaware Valley haven't had much luck with Bernards recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Delaware Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. With that draw, Somerville's record moves to 1-3-1.

Somerville skirted past Delaware Valley 2-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2020. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Terriers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
