Baseball Recap: Harding Skippers vs. Harvey Red Raiders
Harding proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Harvey Red Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Elijah Harless made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. Harding is undefeated when Harless posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Kohen Galm was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Harding: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-8 otherwise. Peyton Kallay was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Harding's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Harvey, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harding will welcome Conneaut at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Skippers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Harvey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brooklyn at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
