Basketball Recap: South Gets the Win

South posted their closest win since January 28, 2025 on Friday. They skirted past the Racine Park Panthers 89-86. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Despite the defeat, Racine Park had strong showings from Cole Betker, who shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten rebounds, and Zare Gwinn, who shot 72% from the field on his way to 32 points and five boards. Betker's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Juwan Eastland, who posted six points in addition to nine assists and seven rebounds.

South's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Racine Park, they dropped their record down to 11-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-44 win against Milwaukee King on the 19th. As for Racine Park, they have also already played their next matchup, a 78-62 victory against Kenosha Tremper on the 19th.
