Softball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

Atlee hit Manchester with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 7-5. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Atlee, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester will challenge Midlothian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Atlee, they will take on Glen Allen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
