Softball Recap: Anacoco Comes Up Short

If Anacoco was feeling good fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Logansport on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell 11-8 to the Montgomery Tigers on Friday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Anacoco has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Anacoco didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-8 win against Church Point on the 21st. As for Montgomery, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-7 defeat against Bell City on the 21st.
