Basketball Recap: Nenana Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Nenana had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 45-36 victory over the Cordova Wolverines. Given the Lynx's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Wolverines are ranked 89th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nenana pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points over those games. As for Cordova, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Nenana nor Cordova have any future games scheduled.
