Baseball Preview: Sidney Team vs. Harpursville Hornets
The Sidney Team will head out on the road to square off against the Harpursville Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Sidney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Harpursville will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Sidney extended their winning streak to three on Saturday. The Team were the clear victors by a 28-3 margin over Dryden. The Team's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Austin Felzak looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sidney got a massive performance out of Riley Finch, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI and three runs. Those three runs gave Finch a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Wright, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
Sidney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Harpursville's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Walton.
Sidney's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Harpursville, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Sidney beat Harpursville 4-0 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Team since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
