Volleyball Recap: Memorial's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Memorial waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over The Colony Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Memorial to victory were Ava Funderburk and Julianna (Jules) Hernandez. Funderburk had seven digs and three aces, while (Jules) Hernandez had six digs and two aces. (Jules) Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

They weren't the only good server: Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive contests.

Memorial's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for The Colony, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Memorial has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Bishop Lynch on the 22nd. As for The Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Richardson on the 22nd.
