Basketball Game Preview: Magee Trojans vs. Lawrence County Cougars

The Magee Trojans will face off against the Lawrence County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Last Tuesday, Magee had just enough and edged Crystal Springs out 35-33.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lawrence County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Columbia 45-42.

Lawrence County pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.7 points per game. As for Magee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Magee might still be hurting after the 48-23 loss they got from Lawrence County in their previous matchup back in November of 2019. Thankfully for Magee, Lakendria Walker (who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
