Basketball Recap: Faith Guerra's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woodlands Academy over Cristo Rey St. Martin

Woodlands Academy lost against Cristo Rey St. Martin back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Woodlands Academy Wildcats fell 40-28 to the Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the CRSM 9-3 in the first quarter.

Woodlands Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Faith Guerra, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claudia Arguelles Rodriguez, who earned three points and six rebounds.

Another player making a difference was Lilibeth Martinez, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

Woodlands Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
