Basketball Recap: Plumas Charter Comes Up Short on the Road Against Portola

Plumas Charter had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Portola Tigers by a score of 74-72 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the loss, Plumas Charter still got an impressive performance from Dalton Bentz, who dropped a double-double with 43 points and 23 rebounds. Bentz has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zac Smith, who posted nine points and three steals.

Plumas Charter will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Paradise Adventist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 9. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Portola, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Chester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
