Basketball Recap: Sydney Tesene's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Nevada Union over Placer

After flying high against Del Campo last Tuesday, Nevada Union came back down to earth. The matchup between the Nevada Union Miners and the Placer Hillmen didn't end well, with the Nevada Union Miners falling 56-38. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 792nd, while the Hillmen are ranked 267th).

Nevada Union's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Tesene, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elle Conway, who had ten points.

Nevada Union has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Placer, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-5.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Twelve Bridges the next time they take the court. Nevada Union will host Twelve Bridges at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Placer will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
