Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Academy Tritons vs. Pulaski Red Raiders

The Notre Dame Academy Tritons will head out to challenge the Pulaski Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Notre Dame Academy got the win against Plymouth by a conclusive 9-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tritons.

Ella Nowak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Olivia Waldrop, who fired off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Jahner was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Notre Dame Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Pulaski was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 7-0 to Kenosha Bradford.

Pulaski's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Notre Dame Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Pulaski's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Notre Dame Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for Pulaski, though, as they've only averaged .336. Will they be able to contain Notre Dame Academy's hitters?

Notre Dame Academy couldn't quite get it done against Pulaski in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Tritons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
