Baseball Recap: Como-Pickton Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Como-Pickton was forced to take a big loss against they on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Martins Mill Mustangs by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-0 defeat.

DANE OUD made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Como-Pickton is undefeated when OUD allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-13 otherwise. OUD was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on JEREMY FLOWERS, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. CRISTIAN MUNOZ was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Como-Pickton pushed their record up to 9-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Martins Mill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Como-Pickton will face off against Alba-Golden at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Martins Mill, they will take on Fruitvale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
